HCscan RAIL&FROG
hand-operated eddy current device
HC Scan is suitable for measuring the errors of the rails caused by
rolling contact fatigue and for controlling the grinding activity that
corrects the errors.
The simple and expedient design of the device makes the HC Scan
effective for quick detection of the HC errors and determination
of the damage level.
The RAIL&FROG version of the HCscan device is able to measure
manganese turnout parts as well.
The device is ready for operation right after turning on, it requires
only the zero-point adjustment on the running surface – and it
displays immediately the HC damage depth in 0.1 mm resolution.
During the adjustment of the zero-point HCscan RAIL&FROG
device recognizes automatically the material of the parts to be
measured (it changes and displays the mode of operation).
Characteristics of the device:
? phase angles set for normal rail and manganese material
? probe with ceramic measuring surface that ensures the stable object distance and abrasion resistance
? the device does not require probe distance adjustment
? zero point adjustment on undamaged surface (e.g. on the top of the running surface of the rail)
? displaying of the improper holding of the probe
? directing of the probe is executed by hand on the surface to be measured
? display of the damage depth:
? between 0 and 3.1 mm: in 0.1 mm resolution
? over 3.1 mm: “>3.1 mm” signal
? color coding according to the classification of the damage deep
? hidden crack angle adjustment possibility to the counting process of the damage deep, in the range of
5° - 25° (default value: 25°)
? power supply: 2 pieces AA battery or accumulator
? operating time: min. 10 h.
Options: Bluetooth connection and software, measuring results to time based graphic display for devices with
Android assembly language (smart phones).
We suggest HC Scan for detecting errors upon the results of nationwide surveys for HC error places in rail
tracks, for following up of damage changes and for controlling of the executed reparation works
